Management Assistant (Analysis)

Possesses the responsibility to be assigned as the Primary Care Management Module (PCMM) Coordinator for Primary Care Teams within the Community Outpatient Clinic. Assists, or provides training, implementation, monitoring _and evaluation of all administrative procedures related lo PCMM operations as well as work closely with the clerks In all primary care settings serving as a PCMM resource person. Provides resources to clinical staff in troubleshooting of DHCP, VISTA and Primary Care Management Module (PCMM) software applications associated with the Primary Care Clinic treatment area, end ensures ell duties ere completed regarding PCMM Implementation and utilization. Ensure accurate data is transmitted to Austin, and reflected In VSSC for their facility. Maintains full responsibility and accountability for PCMM In the Primary Care selling. Enters Primary Care team Information into the PCMM system, enrolls patients Into the Primary Care teams, and assigns patients to appropriate provider within PCMM systems, removes patients from the database when discharged from Primary Care, identifies and corrects discrepancies In the database system. Creates and maintains University of Toledo Medical Center resident schedules, coordinate credentialing and privileging, maintain Provider flies with all relevant and current licenses and proficiencies. Consists of various duties, projects, or assignments involving different and unrelated management or program analysis technical processes and procedures. Provides VISTA, CPRS, and PCMM software assistance. Performs the administrative functions needed by the Primary Care Teams, Medicine and Extended Service, and Data Management in a timely and accurate manner. Utilizes acquired resources, proficiency. and tact with patients and medical staff to provide them with accurate instructions. Possesses the skills to explain and implement applicable laws and regulations governing the administrative activities of the Primary Care Teams. Provides secretarial and administrative support to the Clinical Director, Nurse Managers, and other disciplines as required/requested. Demonstrates expertise in computer applications, and utilize a variety of software packages, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, to create and design tables and graphs. Possesses the ability to transcribe dictation and written material In draft end final form. Including reports, proposals, and memorandum, which contain large amounts of medical terminology. Possesses the responsibility for travel arrangements for staff to attend conferences, educational seminars and meetings, Including preparation of travel form& and airline, ground vehicle end hotel scheduling. Skilled in applying basic data gathering methods, such as standard Interviewing or surveying techniques to collect various types of factual information. Possesses the ability to extract, correlate and analyze patient encounter and provider workload data relative to primary care end make recommendations to management. Provides the customer with consistent information according to established policies and procedures. Communicates and treats customers (veterans, their representatives, visitors, and all VA staff) In a courteous, tactful, and respectful manner. Work Schedule:

Specialized
Experience:
You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-06 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include the ability to demonstrate expertise in computer applications, and utilize a variety of software packages, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, to create and design tables and graphs. Education at the graduate level in an accredited college or university meets the requirements for positions at GS-7 grade. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. Qualifying coursework includes:
Business Management, Public Health and/or Healthcare Administration or comparable major of study. One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study. If that information cannot be obtained from the school, 18 semester hours should be considered as satisfying the 1 year of full-time study requirement. Part-time graduate education is creditable in accordance with its relationship to a year of full-time study at the school attended. You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position:

Work is sometimes sedentary but requires walking, standing and carrying of medium weight items, such as, patient records.
