Athletic Trainer- Toledo Sports Medicine Outreach
The Outreach athletic trainer is responsible for supporting all aspects of Sports Medicine services with schools and community partners--daily operations, community outreach, injury prevention programming, research, and coordination of care. They will develop professional relationships with their patients, families and school communities to become a valued healthcare resource, deliver a high level of customer service, and continually look for ways to improve the quality of their patient experience. Areas of priority will include-but not limited to-school/community partner engagement, weekly clinical coverage, department operations and community event coverage. Knowledge of age appropriate care, scientifically based and medically established best practices for pediatric and adolescent sports medicine and active populations is the standard required for quality service delivery. Responsibilities
Continuously provides a level of detailed communication across the continuum of care involving patients, families, Nationwide Children's Hospital staff and school community.
Continuously engages in relationship building and management involving patients, families and school/partner communities according to Nationwide Children's Hospital standards.
Continuously engages in the highest level of safety, injury prevention and emergency procedures in accordance with Nationwide Children's Hospital Sports Medicine policy and procedures.
Continuously executes the skills required for the highest level of care associated with triage, assessment, diagnosis and referral of sports medicine related healthcare concerns of the pediatric and adolescent population.
Completion of annual department required training, keeping abreast of all policy and procedural changes for clinical care and taking responsibility to become competent with any techniques used in clinic and patient care.

Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training or closely related field; Master's Degree highly preferred
Licensure:
Licensed as an Athletic Trainer in the State of Ohio
BOC Certified
CPR certification
Skills:
Preferred experience with Microsoft Office and injury documentation software
Required
Experience:
1-3 years experience preferred
MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Constantly Required - Talking/Hearing/Seeing Standing/Walking Lifting/Carrying up to 15 lbs.
Occasionally Required - KneelingLifting/Carrying up to 50 lbs. Bending/Stooping Reaching Pushing/Pulling Finger Dexterity Sitting Driving
