Maintains and repairs the electrical distribution system, including the emergency generating equipment to ensure its reliability during electrical outages. Ensures continuous electrical power for lighting process and equipment in the hospital building. Adheres to compliance of the National Electrical Code and associated regulatory agencies. Responsible for electrical distribution system on off shifts.
Maintains all high voltage (12,470v) and medium voltage (480v) substations. Maintains all secondary distribution panels located throughout the complex.
Performs electrical troubleshooting, both within and out of the normal sphere of responsibility, works in other maintenance areas and departments as requested.
Repairs and maintains electronic/electrical equipment and fire alarm detection equipment located throughout the hospital complex.
Must be willing to respond to emergency situations associated with electrical systems on holidays, weekends and varied shifts and be capable of handling minor problems alone.
Completes equipment repair and preventative maintenance work orders daily. Maintains electrical demand log and generator log.
Job Requirements
This position must respond to the designated building alarms and supervisor's instructions. This position is part of the general maintenance department and will assist in any and all responsibilities as designated by the immediate supervisor. Special duties include occasional duty as evening, weekend, or night maintenance mechanic or team leader, and work must be performed in such a method as to adequately maintain the normal hospital functions and utilities without regard to trades.
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent with a four (4) year apprenticeship or on-the-job training.
Must be licensed by the City of Toledo.
Must have sound knowledge of the electrical sections of the Public Building and Safety Code and thorough knowledge of the National Electrical Code as it relates to the hospital and off-site locations.
Must be able to design a multi-voltage wiring diagram and follow through with voltage and power checks.
Must be able to be on-call 24 hours a day for all types of maintenance and electrical problems.
Must be capable of learning and troubleshooting all electrical circuits in the hospital complex in the event of fires, equipment breakdowns, power outages and/or general equipment failures. Be familiar with and respect of 12,470v high voltage substations and familiarity with all types of transformers necessary.
Must know how to use the primary electrical tools and instruments for measuring the types of current and power characteristics used throughout the hospital complex.
Must be willing to take part in the fire prevention and in fire fighting practices as it relates to associated electrical systems. Should be familiar with all department procedures and operations, and be knowledgeable enough to perform regular maintenance functions on a short-term basis.
Must have knowledge of City and NFPA Code requirements for hospital electrical systems.
Due to the nature of this job and the possibility of electrical shock, it is required by OSHA all persons in this classification be certified in CPR and/or First Aid.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
